Securing Individual Health Coverage

Many Americans receive health insurance through an employer-sponsored plan, but that landscape is rapidly changing. More and more people are in situations where employer-sponsored plans are not available to them: self-employment, working part-time, between jobs, pre- or post-retirement, young adults just exiting their parents’ plan, or working for a business that doesn’t provide health coverage.

M3’s Individual Health Benefits Marketplace provides customizable options and resources to help you purchase insurance outside of an employer-sponsored plan. The online portal offers a variety of area-specific, health and wellness-focused insurance plans and products to explore including:

  • Limited-Term Medical Coverage
  • Medicare Supplements

Visit our exchange to purchase insurance products by following these step-by-step instructions:

Step 1:  Click to access M3’s Health Insurance Marketplace

Step 2:  When you arrive at the Marketplace you will need to provide your zip code. This is done to help identify the products and plans available in your area.

Step 3:  Once you’ve entered your zip code and clicked “Start” you’ll need to enter some demographic information to help identify the types of products and plans you’re eligible to purchase. Click “Get Quote” to receive plan information and pricing.

Step 4:  The Marketplace will provide you with a list of plans available for purchase. You can also sort via the tabs at the top of the page. Review the plans and determine which best meet your unique needs. When you have finished selecting your plans, click the “Begin Enrollment” button at the right side of the page.

Step 5:  The system will register your selections and ask you to fill out an electronic application.. It will also ask you to confirm or provide key identifiers such as your street number or your social security number. Once the application is completed, the system will ask you to “Continue to E-Signature Page”.

Step 6:  At this point, the system will confirm your signature and ask you to confirm payment information to enroll you into the plans you selected. You should receive an email from the carriers to confirm vital information such as start date, payment information, and plan details. Payment for all plans will be directly coordinated between you and the insurance carrier.

Complete! You are now enrolled in your selected benefit plans! Please remember to save all emails/confirmations from this process and note that non-payment of premiums can result in cancellation.

Reminder: 

Open enrollment dates for the marketplace are Thursday, November 15 through Saturday, December 15, 2018. However, you can enroll at any time of the year with a qualifying event, including losing health coverage, moving, getting married, having a baby, or adopting a child. You have 60 days from the life event to enroll in coverage.
