Organizations of all types are working hard to keep their workplaces safe for employees and the public. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has offered advice regarding hard sanitizers.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, demand for safety products such as hand sanitizers has rapidly grown. In some cases, manufacturers may be using an incorrect form of alcohol such as methanol, which can have negative health effects for the users. Safe hand sanitizers use an active ingredient of either isopropyl alcohol (aka isopropanol or 2-propanol) or ethyl alcohol (aka ethanol).
The FDA has issued this warning and offered a specific product recall because of the issue. Click here to learn more.
Organizations would be well served to be mindful of the ingredients of hand sanitizers that they purchase to keep their employees and the public safe. If you have questions or concerns about your safety practices, please contact your M3 Account Team.
