28 of 50: Ronald McDonald House

Being treated for a serious illness or disease can mean spending lots of time away from the love and comfort that only a family can provide. That can be especially difficult for children.

Since 1993, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Madison (RMHC) has made it easier for families with a sick child to stay together. Children heal more effectively when surrounded by their families. RMHC helps ease the financial burden for families, provides them a home away from home, and lets them stay close at a time when a child needs love and attention more than ever.

A Cause Our People Are Passionate About

Helping families stay together during hard times: That’s a powerful cause, and it’s why M3 partners with RMHC in a variety of ways. Giving back to the community is important to the people at M3. When it comes to helping RMHC, that means volunteering at various events, serving on the RMHC board, bringing leadership to signature events and initiatives, and giving financial support throughout the year.

“To be a part of something so much bigger than yourself is amazing. To have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of families, many of whom you will never meet, who are going through something so hard is extremely rewarding,” says Jerry Brown,  Partner & Senior Account Executive at M3 Insurance and current Board Member for Ronald McDonald House Charities of Madison.  “The families we help are not only local but come from around the world to the exceptional hospitals and facilities we have here in Madison.”

M3’s support is vital to the work we do at the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Madison. With their commitment and passion for our mission, M3 employees bring a wonderful energy to each role they take on, from board membership to event leadership. They are invaluable in helping provide a home away from home for families when they have a sick child.

When we needed new leadership for our largest fundraising event, the RMHC-Annual Golf Classic, M3 stepped up to take over the Presenting Sponsorship in 2012. Sean LaBorde chaired the event the first several years and ever since, Jerry Brown and Mary Basel have co-chaired the event. Their leadership, dedication, and love for RMHC has helped raise more than $120,000 each year.
