19 of 50: WASBO Safety, Security & Wellness Award

Effective learning environments start with having a safe and healthy space for students and staff. Each year the Wisconsin Association of School Business Officials (WASBO) recognizes school districts that have found creative and effective ways to foster such environments.

Participation around the state

From Hayward to Marinette, from  McFarland to West Bend, school districts are putting great ideas into practice, ideas that are helping to make schools and communities safer and healthier.

WASBO’s annual Safety, Security & Wellness Award competition is open to all Wisconsin public school districts. Entrants must demonstrate successful development and implementation of ideas that fall under one or more risk management categories, including general safety, building security, and wellness.

Each year, a $1,500 grant is awarded to the winning school district to be put toward further risk management efforts.

An award with far-reaching implications

For five years, M3 Insurance has sponsored the WASBO Safety, Security & Wellness Award. The program not only reinforces the mission of our Education and Government Practice but, more important, it generates interest in risk management and serves as a collaborative forum for sharing valuable ideas: School districts have access to all submissions and can learn how peers around the state are making efforts to create safer, healthier schools for students, faculty, and the community.

WASBO thanks Wisconsin school districts for their leadership in safety and wellness, and M3 for providing this award through their sponsorship and their recognition of the good work being done in Wisconsin public schools.
