M3 Offices Help Kick Off United Way’s Seasons of Caring

‘Tis (always) the season… United Way’s Seasons of Caring

In the past, M3 Madison’s United Way Committee has marked the kickoff of the annual United Way giving campaign by helping coordinate employees to serve as “Days of Caring” volunteers. This year, United Way of Dane County rolled out a new format, “Seasons of Caring,” with volunteer opportunities throughout the course of the year. This new twist emphasizes the need for volunteers ALL year long (versus just a few days in August).

As always, United Way of Dane County kicked off the annual campaign with a public celebration. This year’s roll-out event for “Seasons of Caring” took place at the Madison Mallards Stadium and included multiple volunteer opportunities. M3 employees helped label cans for food pantries, stuffed bags with books to be distributed to babies born in Dane County, and decorated bags and note cards for Meals On Wheels. There were also a ton of great kid’s activities available!

Meanwhile, M3’s Milwaukee Office just ended their campaign for the Backpack Coalition of the United Way of Greater Milwaukee and Waukesha County. Last year the Backpack Coalition prepared over 3,300 backpacks with school supplies appropriate for grades K-12. These supplies are distributed to students with financial constraints, helping them participate and succeed in school. Our Milwaukee office first donated supplies to the drive, then employees took advantage of their Volunteer Time Off (VTO) hours on two separate days to assist with the effort. The volunteers helped prepare for the backpack stuffing as well as for the distribution of the backpacks to students. Thousands of students will start their school year off on the right foot with the help of the United Way Backpack Coalition and M3 Milwaukee office volunteers!

Every year, M3 United Way committees in each of our offices help coordinate volunteer opportunities for employees throughout the campaign. These opportunities give employees the ability to use some (or all) of the eight VTO hours allotted to each M3 employee annually. But VTO hours are only a spark, one which is intended to help ignite a passion for giving back.

There is a volunteer opportunity out there to match any interest, skill set, age, and ability. M3 takes pride in being able to support M3ers (and their families) in their search for a cause they can connect with.
